Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to fill a role in Ipswich, this is a part time or full time role of working 4 - 5 days per week. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of children and/or adolescent services and have excellent assessment skills.
The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner job is £23.00 per hour (Umbrella) and is a 6 month contract due to start as soon as possible.
In this role, you will be working alongside Wellbeing Suffolk who help and support to improve wellbeing and manage stress, low mood and anxiety within children aged 5-18 years. The team aim to reduce the onset of mental ill health, prevent deterioration and promote recovery by offering a range of flexible services tailored to meet their clients specific needs. You will be required to provide services within a community settings throughout the region, this includes a wide range of workshops and courses, talking therapies, including counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
This role is a varied mixture of consultation, training, assessment and direct work with children and their families, much of the work is liaising with other agencies and professionals. You must have experience in working with children/young people and be able to undertake assessments with mental health focus and be able to signpost. The role is focused on early intervention rather than acute difficulties. The main focus of this role will be to carry out assessments and some support work rather than undertaking training consultation work with other agencies.
Requirements of the Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner role:
- You must be either a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current NMC pin or a Qualified Social Worker with active HCPC registration.
- You must have experience working with children and/or adolescents
- You must have experience based in a community role and have excellent assessment experience
- You must have a license and access to your own vehicle
