Maxxima is currently seeking experienced QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKERS to fill full time roles in LEICESTER. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of ADULTS Services.

The salary for these locum Social Care positions is £27 Per Hour (Umbrella Rate) and is initially a 3 month contract with potential for extension.

Requirements of the role

We are looking for candidates who are have experience of working within a busy statutory service

A Social Worker to be based in the Learning disability and Transitions service and will need to have previous experience of working with people with LD, MH and Physical disabilities. To have some understanding of transforming Care and the complexity of the work that will need to be undertaken. They will need experience in completing assessments, reassessments, carer's assessments and reviews and risk assessments. They must have an understanding of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. To work proactively with service users, advocates, family, carers and informal carers.
To have a a clear understanding of safeguarding and be able to confidently investigate and lead of concerns.
The worker will also need to have experience of Court of Protection work.
To be part of a busy duty and unplanned service. To also undertake planned and unplanned home visits.
To work alongside other professionals as a multidisciplinary with housing, police, education, supported living, voluntary sector, private providers and health professionals.
To look at best interest and focused outcomes with a strength based approach.
To be able to commission home support packages, residential and supported living placements. To also commission direct payments.
To have good IT skills and complete accurate concise records with relevant information in a timely manner.
To understand and maintain Data protection and confidentiality.
To be able to work with the diverse population of Leicester city. To work alongside interpreters. To be able to consider, class, gender, age, sex, sexuality, xenophobia, religion, ethnicity and Hidden disabilities.
To be able to prioritise work load.
To be able to recognise safeguarding concerns and action appropriately.
To understand the importance of evidence based practice.
To have good time keeping.
Good communication skills.
To have knowledge of anti-discriminatory practice and anti -oppressive practice.
To ensure that individuals have greater choice and control.
