Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 9 Deputy Director of Nursing to fill a full time role based with an NHS Infection Prevention and Control service based in Essex.

The pay rate for this locum role is £56.00 per hour (Umbrella Rate) and is 6 months initially with the possibility of extension to start ASAP.

Working within an NHS Infection Prevention and Control service you will:

*Have responsibility for the lead in the implementation of areas of strategic development focusing on key areas outlined within the job description, including the Trust's strategy for nursing in line with national nursing and midwifery strategy incorporating the 6 fundamental values:- care, compassion, competence, communication, courage and commitment.
*Be the Trust's designated Director of Infection, Prevention and Control (DIPC) and have the executive authority and responsibility for ensuring the implementation of strategies to prevent avoidable healthcare associated infections (HCAIs) at all levels in the organisation.
*Manage the human, financial and physical resources for clinical governance and quality directorate.
*Deputise for the Executive Nurse including attendance at Executive Operational Team and Board of Directors meetings.
*Lead on Harm Free Care and Sign up for Safety Campaigns.
* Develop and maintain good working relationships with all partnership agencies.
*Work with the Executive Director of Clinical Governance and Quality/Executive Nurse and be responsible for taking forward the strategic and corporate agenda for nursing, clinical governance, quality and patient safety.
*The post holder will have a senior operational management role within the directorate, deputising for the Executive Nurse and will be responsible for Clinical Governance and Quality, Emergency Planning and Resilience, Resuscitation, Practice Development, Research Support, Physical Healthcare, Infection Control, Non-Medical Prescribing, Clinical Effectiveness, Serious Incident management and Mortality Review across the Trust.

Requirements of the role:
All applicants be a registered nurse with a current NMC pin
All applicants must have experience within the NHS.
All applicants must have experience at Director of Nursing level, specifically within infection control
