Job Description

Maxxima are currently recruiting for a Band 8A HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist to work in Doncaster. The Trust are currently looking for their Forensic Services.

Our clients are looking for candidates to start ASAP on a full time basis and are offering an initial contract of Five months. There is a high chance of extensions beyond this initial contract period. The starting pay rate is £29 per hour.

The post involves contributing to the delivery of a high quality Psychology service to males with learning disabilities and complex needs, which may include mental health issues, personality disorder or autism spectrum diagnosis. The majority of patients have experienced adverse family backgrounds, which may include histories of trauma, abuse and neglect. All patients require secure care as a result of engaging in offending or high risk behaviours, which may include sexual offending, aggression or violence towards others, fire setting and self harm. The successful candidate will work collaboratively as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team. Experience of working in a secure environment is desirable. A person centred approach and a commitment to the development of a psychologically minded work force is essential.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Clinical Psychologist who is keen to deliver specialist psychological interventions in both individual and group treatments adapted for the needs of people with learning disabilities, eg: Sex Offender Treatment, Anger Management, Arson Treatment.

Candidates should have experience of using and interpreting psychometric assessments relevant to the patient group, and should be familiar with the use of structured professional clinical judgement tools in risk assessment and management, such as HCR-20 SVR-20.

Candidates should be psychologically robust, patient centred, able to demonstrate initiative and enjoy working in a busy and dynamic environment. Strong team working, organizational and time management skills are essential, as are excellent communication and report writing skills.
