Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking a experienced Band 7 Biomedical Scientist in Pathology to fill a full time role in Buckinghamshire.

The starting pay rate for this locum BMS job is £28.00 to £30.00 per hour and is an ongoing role.

Requirements of the Biomedical Scientist role:

All applicants must have a relevant experience of working within an NHS or Private Pathology Laboratory. Candidates must have their HCPC registration and also a Valid Working Holiday Visa, Ancestry Visa or EU Citizenship.

*To liaise closely with senior managers and Consultant Histopathologists in the technical and governance aspects of the department.
*To supervise , training and deploy BMSs and other staff and ensure the department is run in a professional manner in accordance with technical and quality standards of the Trust.

*To work with external quality inspectors, suppliers and other Trust staff in a professional and efficient manner.

Aim of the role
*To help in the supervision and training of Biomedical Scientists (BMS) and other staff in the department and to assist with the maintenance of high professional and technical standards.
*Post holder must possess a Master's degree or equivalent and be HCPC registered. Highly competent in the use of Word and Excel as well as have a good knowledge and experience of ISO15189 standards, Quality Management System (QMS), audits and training.
*To deputise for the Chief BMS as required
*To ensure that all staff work in accordance with trust health and safety and HR policies as well as departmental policies. Ensure that all staff maintain mandatory training requirements.
*Competent use of the Quality Management System (QMS)
