Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 RMN to fill a full time role based in Leicester, this is an exciting new opportunity offering a different environment & new experiences.

This crisis and assessment team are looking for an experienced Band 6 RMN to go out with a paramedic either in an ambulance or car, both of which are blue lighted vehicles.

The hours of work will be 4pm - Midnight, working Wednesday through to Sunday.

Rate of pay will be £22.00 per hour for hours worked 4pm - 8pm, rising to £28.00 per hour for hours worked 8pm - midnight.

To be considered you MUST have Rio training and excellent assessment skills

The role will also include:

Travelling with the paramedic to carry out mental health assessments. Once completed the paramedic will do the health review to see if the patient needs urgent treatment or not.

If the paramedic decides the patient's life isn't in immediate danger, your role as an RMN will be to carry out an assessment to decide whether or not the patient needs -

* Admitting straight to the Mental Health Unit
* Can be seen in A&E
* Can stay at home and be seen under the Crisis team or
* An assessment under their GP.

The team have advised that if there are no calls for the RMN to go out on they will be office based taking calls from paramedics. This will involve the RMN doing an assessment over the phone with paramedics, accessing RIO.
