Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Registered General Nurse to fill an exciting role in Northamptonshire. The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in conjunction with police custody.

This exciting role is for a RGN to provide healthcare to those detained in custody. You will carry out comprehensive assessments and refer to the appropriate services as required (this may include mental health, substance misuse, A&E, minor injuries etc). You will also manage any emergency situations.

Your role will also include liaison with forensic physicians, nursing staff, police and patients. You must be able to medicate via PGDs and provide Immediate Life Support.

The pay rate for this locum RGN job is £23.00 days, £28.00 nights/Saturdays and £33.00 Sundays per hour (all Umbrella). This is a 3 month contract.

The team works on a 24 hour rotational rota, and shifts include early (07:00-15:00), late (13:00-21:00) and nights (20:45-07:15).

Requirements of the RGN role:

- You must be a Registered General Nurse with the NMC
- You must have previous NHS experience
- Previous experience within police custody is desirable
- You must have experience in assessment and referral
- You must be able to provide Immediate Life Support
- You must be a car driver with access to your own vehicle
