Job Description

Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Learning Disabilities Nurse to fill a full time or part time, Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm role in Windnes, Cheshire. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of learning disability practices within children.

The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Learning Disabilities Nurse job is £23 per hour (Umbrella) and is a 3 month contract due to start ASAP.

This role will require you to work as part of a Community Paediatric Team, providing support and management of children with disabilities, including neuro disabilities, e.g. ASD, ADHD and severe and profound disability, amongst others. You will be responsible for working with Parents/Carers, GP practices, schools and other partners to develop understanding of the conditions and facilitate appropriate support for children/young people and families.

You will deliver assessments, plan and implement packages of care for children /young people up to 19 years of age whilst liaising with, advising and supporting clients and their carers. You will undertake prescribing and also run nurse-led clinics.

Requirements of the Band 6 Learning Disabilities Nurse role:

- You must be a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse with a current NMC pin
- You must have experience of providing assessments and implementing packages of care
- You must have experience working with children
