Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to fill a full time role based in Leicester. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Mental Health practices.

The starting pay rate for this locum role is £22 per hour (Umbrella Rate) and is initially a 3 month contract, with the possibility of extension. The working hours will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm, but there is a possibility for part time hours if necessary.

This role will be based within the Integrated Care Mental Health Team, which is a service that is primary care based and its remit is to assess, treat and support patients who have long term physical health problems, but where there are concerns about their mental health.

The team receives referrals directly from GPs and helps patients with Anxiety, Depression and Cognitive impairment where Dementia is suspected. All work is done in the patient's home, unless it is requested that they are seen at an alternative venue, e.g. GP Surgery.

The Team's involvement with patients is short term, up to a maximum of 3 months, and it is important that patients are discharged quickly and appropriately where there is no longer a need for input. If longer term support / treatment is needed, patients are referred to the CMHT or Memory Clinic.

The ideal applicant will need to have experience of working within a CMHT setting and a good working knowledge of Dementia, as well as functional mental health problems. They must be a car driver and have their own vehicle.

Requirements of the role:
All applicants must have an updated NMC Registration.
