Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse to fill a full time role in Oxford. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of Older Adults Community Mental Health practices within the NHS.

The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse job is £23 per hour (Umbrella) and is a 3 month contract due to start ASAP.

Working with an NHS team, this role will require you to provide mental health services in the community to people who are over 65 years old, who are experiencing functional or organic mental health problems, you may also be required to provide support for younger people with dementia. The following services are provided;

- Assessment and diagnosis
- Psychological intervention
- Medication management
- Memory clinics for the diagnosis of dementia, and treatment and support for people newly diagnosed with dementia
- support, advice and health information
- Support and education for primary care teams, social and community services, and other statutory, voluntary and private organisations providing care to older people with mental health needs

Requirements of the Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse role:

- You must be a Registered Mental Health Nurse with a current NMC pin
- You must have previous experience working within the community for the NHS
- You must have previous experience working with older adults
