Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Learning Disability Nurse to fill a full time role in South West London. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of learning disability practices.
The pay rate for this locum Band 6 Community Learning Disability Nurse job is £24.00 per hour (Umbrella) and is a 3 month contract due to start ASAP.
Working hours are Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm, working 37.5 hours per week.
We are seeking an Community Learning Disability Nurse with proven clinical skills in working with adults with complex health needs, to work within our integrated, multi-disciplinary team within a busy London NHS Trust. We are a dynamic, proactive and forward thinking service,
This post requires specialist skills in learning disabilities and candidates must be committed to maintaining and developing these skills. There is ample opportunity for continuing professional development working alongside experienced and knowledgeable colleagues, accessing diverse training opportunities and via supervision and mentoring.
As an experienced Learning Disability Nurse the post holder will be autonomous in managing a varied caseload and will need to travel between community locations in the borough of Wandsworth for appointments. They will work closely with and be supported by other Learning Disability Nurses within the Community Services.

Requirements of the Band 6 Community Learning Disability Nurse role:
- You must be a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with a current NMC pin
- You must have previous experience working within the community
- You must have further education or recognised training in meeting the needs of people with learning disabilities complex health needs problems in the community
- You must have experience of working in a multi-professional, multi-agency setting
- You must have experience of undertaking and formulating comprehensive nursing assessments
