Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 6 Specialist Children's Learning Disability Nurse to fill a full time role based in Widnes, Cheshire. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Learning Disabilities/Nursing practices.

The starting pay rate for this locum role is £22 per hour (Umbrella Rate) and is initially a 3 month contract, with the possibility of extension. The working hours will be Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

This role will involve working as part of a Community Paediatric Team, to provide support and management of children with disabilities, including neuro disabilities, e.g. ASD, ADHD and severe and profound disability, amongst others.

You will work with parents/carers, GP practices, schools and other partners to develop understanding of the conditions and facilitate appropriate support for children/young people and their families.

The post holder will offer liaison, advice and support and clinical input to clients with a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD and other disorders, and their carers, and also to colleagues, both internally and externally as required. The post holder will undertake prescribing, within agreed clinical management plans and with clear protocols and guidance.

Requirements of the role:
