Maxxima is currently seeking a experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist to fill a full time role in London.
The starting pay rate for this locum BMS job is £31000.00 to £39000.00 per hour and is an ongoing role.
Requirements of the BMS role:
To provide technical support for the Flow Cytometry Service in the Barts CR-UK Centre/WHRI. The post-holder will be expected to be responsible for contributing to the operation and maintenance of flow cytometry equipment, for the analysis and sorting of samples by flow cytometry/FACS, and for the operation and maintenance of the CyTOF2. The post is based at Charterhouse Square, but may require the post-holder to visit other local Hospital sites.
BSc or equivalent in relevant subject
Experience in the operation of flow cytometers(essential)
Experience in cell sorting (desirable)
Experience in other biochemical techniques (desirable)
Experience of working in a research environment(desirable)
Experience with mass cytometry (desirable)
Experience with Imaging cytometry (desirable)
Knowledge of flow cytometry (essential)
Knowledge of proteomics or metabolomic techniques(desirable)
Knowledge of and use of CyTOF and Hyperion systems would be an advantage(desirable)
Knowledge of flow cytometry analysis software(essential)
Ability to maintain accurate and up to date records(essential)
Understanding of the research process(essential)
Ability to organise and prioritise own work and organise research within the project timetable (essential)
Effective team working(essential)
Good communication skills(essential)
Analytical skills (essential)
Experience with statistical analysis (essential)
Flexible and co-operative (essential)
