Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking a experienced Band 6 Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry to fill a full time role in South Yorkshire.

The starting pay rate for this locum Biomedical Scientist job is £22.00 to £24.00 per hour and is an ongoing role.

Requirements of the Biomedical Scientist role:

You will be working on the automation section using:

- Siemens Advia 2400's
- Siemens Centaur XPs
- Siemens Labcell automation
- IL GEM4000 blood gas analyser
- Advanced 3320 micro-osmometer
- Arkay ammonia checker

You will also be required to register samples using our LIMS, Winpath enterprise and work on the resulting section, actioning patient results as appropriate using Siemens Centra-link and Winpath Enterprise.

It would be advantageous if you had used any of the instrumentation stated, mainly the Siemens equipment and worked on a resulting section.

There will be a short 4-8 week training period (depending on experience and capability) where training and competencies will be provided.


Once training has been completed and the candidate is signed off as competent they will be expected to work a 2-10 shift Monday to Friday.


All applicants must have a relevant experience of working within an NHS or Private Pathology Laboratory. Candidates must also be HCPC registered and also have a Valid Working Holiday Visa, Ancestry Visa or EU Citizenship.
