Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an audiologist to fill a full-time role in South East London. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of audiology practices.

The role is available to start as soon as possible and is initially 3 months long with possibility for an extension. The starting pay rate for this locum job is £20-£24 per hour.

All applicants must have a relevant qualification in audiology.Requirements of the audiology role includes:

. Ability to communicate to a high level with all children and families
. Ability to communicate specifically with profoundly deaf adults/and children, including
the use of sign language with an interpreter where necessary
. Elicit medical history information from patients regarding the cause of deafness, residual
disability when aided, social and emotional status
. Ability to carry out all testing to a high standard using equipment competently and with
accuracy
. To be able to complete behavioural assessments of children of all ages
. To be able to perform, have a scientific understanding / able to provide the
interpretation of the results of various types audiometric/ electrophysiological testing
available in the audiology practice
. To be able to produce written reports / letters as appropriate to communicate clearly the
results of tests and care plans etc - To be able to work in collaboration with Tertiary
Audiology and ENT services in relation to a range of clinical matters
. To analyse test results and information elicited from the patient and significant others,
in forming a judgements as to the patient's level of hearing impairment - To be aware of
many different factors including duration and aetiology of deafness, functional ability
when aided, motivation, additional difficulties (such as visual impairment, cerebral
palsy etc.), social circumstances, employment situation and family support.
