Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner to fill a full time role in Bury St Edmunds. The ideal candidate will have an expert understanding of mental health practices.
The pay rate for this locum Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner role is £18.00 per hour days, £22.00 for Saturdays and nights and £28.00 for Sundays per hour (Umbrella) and is a 6 month contract due to start ASAP.
Your role will be working within the Crisis Mental Health Team which provides emergency and urgent assessments for people in mental health crisis. It also provides telephonic support for those known to services and requires additional support.
This role will be to respond to telephone calls in a timely manner to talk to patients/carers as well as professionals making referrals.
The team operates on a 24/7 basis, and you will be expected to undertake flexible working patterns, adapting to service needs. As part of the role you will be expected to work weekends as part of your standard working pattern.
Shifts are 17.00 - 21.30pm or 21.30 - 09.00am Monday to Friday and then the occasional 9am - 5pm Saturday &/or Sunday, working on a rota.
Requirements of the Band 5 Mental Health Practitioner role:
*NMC registered Mental Health Nurse or HCPC registered Social Worker
*Previous experience of working with people with mental health needs
*Good interpersonal and communication skills
*Good verbal and written skills
*Good observation and reporting skills
*Ability to use own initiative
*Ability to display calm, mature response to difficult situations
