Maxxima Nursing Team is currently seeking an experienced Children's Palliative Care Nurse to fill a full time, permanent role in Kent. The ideal candidate will have an understanding of nursing care for children in need to end of life care.
The team provides professional, specialist, one-to-one care and support and access to life-enhancing facilities for babies, children and young people up to the age of 19. The hospice has specially adapted bedrooms, designed to enable an enhanced level of independence for young people staying.
This role will require you to work as part of an integrated multidisciplinary team, the purpose of this role is to facilitate optimum quality of life for children, young people and their families with life limiting or life threatening conditions. This will be achieved in collaboration with children, young people and families through the provision of specialist palliative care nursing interventions based on comprehensive holistic assessment, goal focused care planning and education and support to both patients and families, and for other health and social care professionals.
Requirements of the Children's Palliative Care Nurse role:
- You must be a Registered general nurse with a current NMC pin
- You must have at least 1 years previous experience as a Band 5 RGN
- You must have previous experience working with children, ideally disabilities/complex needs or delivering end of life care
