Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking an experienced Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse to fill a full time role based in Knowsley. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of Mental Health practices.

The starting pay rate for this locum role is £18 - 23 per hour (Umbrella Rate) and is 3 months with the possibility of extension to start ASAP.

*The service supports adults in Knowsley who have difficulties using mainstream adults' health services because of a learning disability.
*This could be for a number of reasons, such as problems communicating or problems with mobility.
The team is made up of specialist learning disability nurses, who are experts in working with people with learning disabilities, as well as occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and psychologists.
*The role will involve assessing patients to help to understand what is causing the issues and how the team can help.
*Following this assessment, a care plan will be put together that meets the patient's individual needs.
*This could include physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychology services and psychiatry.
The team can work with people in their own homes, at college, at the team base, or at day services across Knowsley.
This may be on a one to one basis, in a group or by supporting family members and carers.
*The team also provide training for family members, carers and other professionals supporting adults with learning disabilities.
*The service is for adults age 18 and over who live in Knowsley or are registered with a Knowsley GP who have a learning disability.


Requirements of the role:
All applicants must have an updated NMC Registration.
All applicants must be a car driver.
