Job Description

Maxxima is currently seeking experienced QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKERS to fill full time roles in ANGLESEY. The ideal candidate will have a significant understanding of ADULTS Services.

The starting pay rate for these locum QUALIFIED SOCIAL WORKER jobs is £33 per hour and is initially a 3 month contract with potential for extension.

Requirements of the role

All applicants must have a relevant qualification in Social Work (e.g. DipSW), be registered with the HCPC and have a minimum of 2 years' post-qualifying experience in a similar statutory team.

We are looking for Qualified Social Workers with significant statutory experience of working within a busy Social Work team

1.To undertake Mental Capacity Assessments and Best Interests Assessments of people in care homes or hospital settings under the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) and case law from the Supreme Court and Court of Protection in relation to deprivation of liberty.

2. Undertake the responsibilities of a Best Interest Assessor (BIA) as determined by the MCA, DoLS and associated legislation, national codes of practice and national and local guidance.

3. Hold individual responsibility for ensuring citizens, who lack the mental capacity to make decisions to be accommodated for the purpose of care and treatment and who may be deprived of their liberty, have the necessary safeguards in place to protect their human rights. Ensure that arrangements made for these citizens, comply with best practice guidelines and legal requirements under statutory legislation.

4. To reach decisions on whether arrangements for care and treatment of a person in a care home or hospital requires authorisation under Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.

5. Acting under appropriate legislation to safeguard the welfare of adults.

6. Monitoring and supervising clients according to statutory and service requirements.

7. Seeking to work in partnership with families to promote, develop and maintain a maximum quality of life for people assessed.

8. Providing information and advice around the Mental Capacity Act.

9. Maintaining records of work in line with Service requirements.

10. Preparing reports for Courts and professional colleagues.

In respect of the work of the team, there would also be a need for:

1. To bring the skills and knowledge of the post holder's professional qualification and experience to the service of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguard Team.

2. A commitment to establishing an effective supervision relationship with supervisor and supervisees (where this is required).
